Adelaide Paediatric Dentistry – COVID 19 Update
At Adelaide Paediatric Dentistry, we are dedicated to providing the most comprehensive care to all our patients. Our focus is each and every child we see. Our priority has always been the health, safety and wellbeing of our patients and our staff and these philosophies remain the core of the practice.
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and in an attempt to reduce the community spread and risk to both patients, parents, the Australian Dental Association, and the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee have advised a ‘Guide to Managing COVID-19’ and Adelaide Paediatric Dentistry is following these recommendations for the health, safety and wellbeing of our patients, staff and the community at large. Unlike Level 3 restrictions, Level 2 restrictions allow the provision of some routine dental procedures, including some non-urgent dental treatment under strict conditions.
Given these significant changes in the way we practice dentistry and the way we are living, I and all my staff at Adelaide Paediatric Dentistry are committed to maintaining the support and care for our patients and their families, as well as providing dental care when required. In addition to our regular services, we are, in specific cases providing Telehealth consultations. This service is available to our existing patients as well as new patients when clinically indicated. In addition, to continue to help decrease the COVID-19 infection in the community and improve the journey for our patients, we have a specific new patient information form, which can be completed online for all new patients to the practice. Our staff will assist you in completing these forms if required
The practice is open during this time and we can be contacted through email or phone as required. If your child presents with a dental emergency outside these hours, please call the Australian Dental Association, (SA branch) emergency phone number (08) 82728367 or their website adasa.asn.au. Alternatively, if your child has sustained significant dental trauma or a facial swelling from a dental infection and is systemically unwell please contact the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
For all patients with existing appointments, our staff will contact you directly to confirm these appointments or if any rescheduling is required. Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us on 08 8431 6162 or email us at admin@adelaidepaediatricdentistry.com.au
As we all know, the current state of COVID-19 is resulting in significant changes on a daily basis. We will continue to update you on any further changes. This is certainly a positive change from previous Level 3 restrictions and these additional changes that we have put in place will hopefully allow us to do our small part to decrease the COVID-19 infection in further and allow us to recommence our normal provision of care.
Most importantly, please stay safe and look after each other.
Sam and the team at Adelaide Paediatric Dentistry.
